Northern Powerhouse Rail set for cuts as chancellor sharpens spending axe
There are fears that the chancellor’s autumn financial statement being delivered on 17 November could drop significant previous transport spending commitments including a further scaling down of northern rail investment.
The prospect has angered northern leaders who have expressed their concern in a letter to The Times.
